16 December 2016 (14:43)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 16, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant in Nizhniy Tagil is working to induce professional standards on the premises, the company press service reports.

This is one of the plant’s primary people management goals for 2016 and 2017.

‘Our first professional standard was developed for job safety experts. Following a training session and an exam, 100% of our job safety professionals now meet their qualification and skills requirements. Now workers from the plant’s Weights & Measures Lab are also undergoing professional development training at our Personnel Training Center and are expected to sit their exams before the end of the month.

It was decided to focus on ten professional standards for the time being: Job Safety, Document Control, Personnel Management, Measurements, Crane Operation, Galvanizing, Polishing, and some others. Some 2,000 employees are currently involved in one of the activities above, and, according to the Russian Government’s Provision 584 (dated June 27, 2016), all state-run enterprises must introduce their professional standards before 2020,’ the press service says.

An ad hoc work team was set up at the plant for the purpose.
