Beloyarskaya Nuclear Plant Directs 42.2m RUR to Environmental Protection

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 13, 2016. Beloyarskaya Nuclear Power Plant directed over 42.2m RUR to environmental protection measures last year. For one, the plant’s treated water disinfection unit was reconstructed and switched from chlorination to ultraviolet treatment, the plant’s press service reports.
The news was announced at a presentation of the plant’s environmental safety report for 2015 that Beloyarskaya representatives made at Atomic Energy Information Center in Yekaterinburg. The report was presented to members of Sverdlovsk Region and Zarecnhy Public Chambers, Zarechny council officials, and local reporters.
Reports were made by Tatiana Antropova from the plant’s Environmental Protection Department, head of Radiological Monitoring Group at Nuclear Safety Department Alexander Shonokhov, and Pavel Baranov from the Nuclear Safety & Reliability Department.
