Ural Airlines: Ten Years With Airbus
21 November 2016 (09:30)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 21, 2016. Ural Airlines celebrated its first ten years of using Airbus liners on November 18, the air carrier’s press service reports.
The airline’s first A320 liner in company colors landed in Koltsovo Airport ten years ago on November 18.
‘This was the start of a new era for Ural air travel. We embarked on our fleet renovation program that is still in progress today. Ural Airlines are only using airplanes supplied by Airbus and have bought thirty-seven of them since October 2011. We are going to buy four more next year, which means there’ll be forty-one aircraft all in all,’ the press service says.
Switching to airplanes made in the West has meant the company infrastructure had to be adjusted accordingly; for one, Ural Airlines now operate their own pilot training school with the most advanced simulators available and their own aircraft maintenance center where all the complicated maintenance jobs can be done.
‘Airbus liners made a great contribution to our company’s development; our crew and, most importantly, our passengers love them,’ the press service says.
