EVRAZ: Raspadskaya Mine Launches Roof-Bolters
3 November 2016 (14:26)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 3, 2016. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya-Koksovaya Mine is now using Fletcher self-propelled roof-bolters for excavation support, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s press office reports.
This modern equipment cuts down on the time needed to fit the roof bolts in, prevents idle times, enhances job safety, and increases the overall process speed. The roof-bolters are extremely safe and controlled remotely, with a protective plate to prevent caving. Fitting one roof bolt in now takes 1.5 minutes against the 4 to 5 minutes needed to do this manually.
The speed-up means miners can now work on the stoping ground much faster.
Raspadskaya Mine produces valuable K coal that gets supplied to EVRAZ Holding’s metallurgical assets.
