UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 5, 2016. Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) shipped a set of seamless pipes to Saransk, where they will be used to put up Mordovia Arena Stadium in time for the world football championship of 2018.
According to the company’s PR Department, the contractor has received 210,000 kg of seamless pipes (diameter: 219mm and 426mm) made of 440C steel this year so far.
This is not the first time TMK delivers pipes for Saransk stadium: the company also supplied 1,600,000 kg of pipes for the stadium’s metal frames last year.
TMK has been supplying its produce for the construction of Wold Cup 2018 facilities since 2014. For one, the company started making seamless pipes from 440C steel at its Volzhsky Pipe Plant specially for the stadiums.
Apart from the stadium in Saransk, the company also supplied its pipes for the roof of Samara Arena in Samara; TMK’s Seversky Pipe Plant supplied zinc-coated pipes for the outer structure of Spartak Stadium (reopened as Otkrytiye Arena in 2015) in Moscow; its shock-resistant seamless pipes made of 09G2S steel were used for the retractable roof of Zenit Arena in Saint Petersburg.
