EVRAZ Holding’s Esaulskaya Mine Starts New Long Face

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 23, 2016. Miners at Esaulskaya Mine (the asset of EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company) started working on new long face 26-25 bis with its estimated 460,000,000 kg of the valuable metallurgical coal Zh, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s press service reports.

‘To prepare the long face, miners had to do 2.5 km worth of excavation work and do a number of assembly and capital mining jobs. They are now working at 450 meters below ground. To ensure their safety, all the excess gas gets drained out into the rock cavity, and additional relief wells and dust-catching appliances are used to prevent pressure bursts and reduce dust formation,’ the press service says.

Oleg Basmanov’s team will be in charge of producing coal from the new long face section. The miners are expected to produce around 120,000,000 kg of coal every month.
