UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 29, 2016. Rossseti’s Federal Grid Company is now working to replace the outworn high-voltage equipment at its 220-kilowatt substation Imidor in Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region Yugra.

According to the company’s West Siberian branch, this retooling is expected to make the power supply to local oil and gas companies more reliable and ensure a safe fall/winter season.

‘The substation will get thirteen new 110/220-kilowatt SF6 circuit-breakers that are more suitable for differing climatic conditions, better insulated and more fireproof; they also need repairing less often than their older counterparts. Additionally, new and up-to-date microprocessor-based protection relay and automation systems will get installed there,’ the press service says.

Imidor, with its projected transformer capacity of 250 MVA, was launched in 1981. The substation provides power supply to most oil and gas companies in the area.
