Yurga Plant Does Emergency Drills

27 May 2016 (09:30)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 27, 2016. Yurga Machine-Building Plant (a member enterprise of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) coordinated large-scale drills for its rescue teams to make sure they are ready for all kinds of emergencies at the company power station, the corporation’s press service reports.

The drill consisted in a role play where a 6.6-meter-wide hole appeared in the station’s slurry pond, causing massive waste leakage.

‘Our emergency committee (the plant’s first Deputy Director-General I.G. Chapayev, heads of power departments, and the Senior Engineer’s Department) set to work. They considered a report made by head of the power station and adopted and implemented an action plan, including notifying the state authorities about the emergency, as the law requires,’ the press service explains.
