UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 19, 2016. MegaFon Ural Infrastructure Director Anton Shcherbakov took part in a round table discussion on the development of Russian and global broadband access technologies markets, 4G/5G expansion, and ways of improving telecommunications services.
The speakers also talked about the global experience in LTE development, the prospects of 5G networks, ways in which the ISP/carrier and the subscriber can improve the quality of service, and mobile data transfer and this market’s current demand and supply ratio.
‘Sverdlovsk Region’s is a highly competitive market, as there are as many as five major mobile carriers competing for their shares here. Local users and subscribers have been generating quite a lot of traffic, with no drastic surges characteristic of the time when 3G came to replace GSM,’ Shcherbakov said.
According to Shcherbakov, the current economic situation calls for the telecommunications providers to look for a balance between providing quality service and cutting spending.
