Ural Vagon Zavod Holds Research-to-Practice Conference

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 27, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation held its 13th research-to-practice conference for young workers in Nizhniy Tagil; the conference was dedicated to the corporation’s prospects in the current economy, cost optimization, and quality improvements, the company press service reports.

Reports were presented by employees of the corporation’s Nizhniy Tagil-based head plant, Yekaterinburg-based Plant 9, Uraltransmash (Yekaterinburg), Electromachine (Chelyabinsk), Vityaz (Ishimbay), Omsktransmash (Omsk), and KULZ (Kamensk-Uralsky) as well as by students of Ural State University of Railway Transport and by representatives of the corporation’s youth group. The idea is to involve the company’s younger and prospective workers in the plants’ retooling programs.

An agreement was signed between the corporation and the university during the conference plenary session in order to introduce a new format of personnel training at the plant and to engage college faculty in the company’s design work. The document was signed by Ural Vagon Zavod’s Executive Director Vladimir Roshchupkin and Rector of Ural State University of Railway Transport Alexander Galkin. Additionally, five students from Ural Federal University’s Nizhniy Tagil subsidiary, all of them with impressive academic achievements, were awarded the Dmitri Lorenzo Fellowship (meant to commemorate Ural Vavon Zavod’s first Senior Designer) by Vladimir Roshchupkin and Vladimir Pegashkin.
