KULZ Holds Trade Union Conference

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 9, 2016. Kamensk Uralsky Foundry Plant/KULZ (a member enterprise of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) held a trade union conference recently, the company press service reports.
Chair of the plant’s trade union Alexandra Vinogradova presented her report. She stressed that the organization’s main focus was on the protection of the workers’ social and labor rights, control over timely payment of wages and salaries, inflation adjustment of pay and other pay raises, the application of labor legislation, labor protection, healthcare, and coordination of cultural, sports, and festive events.
‘Thanks to the understanding we have with our employer and to our mutual willingness to cooperate for improvements, the plant employees’ average pay rose by 1.4 times compared with 2012. Our piece-rate workers are now getting 40% of their average daily pay for every public holiday day. Over 600 people have joined the trade union in the last five years, while we tend to have some 850 members on average at any given moment. We now have a fresh team since new members arrived while quite a few older employees retired,’ Vinogradova said.
Reports were also made by representatives of the mass events committee, long-service employees’ council, youth council, Chair of the Aviation Industry Trade Union’s local division Oleg Terentiev, and the plant’s Director-General Anatoly Barabanov.
