Ural Vagon Zavod’s power station gets certified for heating season

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 20, 2015. The heat and power station operated by Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant got certified by Sverdlovsk Region Energy Ministry to operate in the heating season 2015/2016.

It is reported the station was inspected by a committee appointed by Sverdlovsk Region Power Supply Safety Office.

‘The heat and power station is particularly important not only for the plant’s production premises but also for the entire Dzerzhinsky District of Nizhniy Tagil. In the summer, the station had its boilers, heat-generating units, chemical filtering facilities, and turbine generators 3,5.6, and 1 repaired or overhauled. Besides, all the heat supply grids in the area got repaired and heat-insulated. All this ensured a timely start of the heating season in the city and at the plant,’ the company press service says.

To get properly ready for the winter, the plant engineers repaired all the electric mains and the equipment at Ural Vagon Zavod’s several power substations. The heating equipment at the railcar assembly departments was repaired as well. Also, 261 radiators and around 2,700 meters of internal pipes were replaced. 2,645 m2 of ceiling and bridging fixtures and 887 m2 of steel concrete structures got replaced as well.
