According to the corporation’s press service, the exhibition/guided tour project aims at patriotic education of the youth and enlightening students about the city’s wartime history. The project was designed in the year of the V-Day 70th anniversary and the year Omsk turned 300. The Military Siberia Project was assessed very favorably by experts and given the prestigious nation-wide Russian Event Award.
Over 200 students helped the project by designing twelve guided tours and a number of artistic sites. Besides, they created a unique map featuring the city’s defense enterprises in 1941-1945 (more than a hundred of them altogether). Representatives of Omsk Service Institute and local defense enterprises contributed to the project as well.
The solemn awarding ceremony took place at MKR Media press center.
Also, thank-you letters for help with the project were presented to Omsktransmash Director-General Igor Lobov and Personnel Training Department’s Valentina Golenitskaya.
