UrBC, Pervouralsk, September 22, 2015. Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant/PNTZ (a member enterprise of ChTPZ Group) produced its 1,000,000th ton of small-diameter electric welded pipes. The set of 8.0mmX0.7mm pipes was delivered to one of Minsk’s leading household goods manufacturers, the Group’s press service reports.
The plant’s pipe welding department makes small-diameter welded pipes in many shapes and sizes. This is Russia’s leading facility for making small-diameter shock absorber pipes and refrigerator pipes for Indesit, Stinol, Atlant, and BEKO. The plant has also had its refrigerator pipe production line and its thermal treatment furnace upgraded in the last five years.
This 1,000,000th ton of pipes was made on the 80th anniversary of the plant’s trade union (one of the largest in Sverdlovsk Region).
‘Celebrating anniversaries with production records is an old custom of ours. The trade union’s history is interwoven with that of the plant itself, with over 70% of our workers as members. There is some special significance in celebrating this year’s anniversary in the electric welding department, for it is precisely here that the Urals’ and Russia’s pipe industry was born,’ PNTZ Director Alexander Isaikin said during the welding ceremony.
