UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 11, 2015. The second Uralvagonzavod Cup Hockey Championship will begin at V.K. Sotnikov Ice Sports Palace in Nizhniy Tagil on August 12, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports.
During the four-day championship, Sputnik (Nizhniy Tagil), Bars (Kazan), Yermak (Angarsk), and Chelmet (Chelyabinsk) will meet to compete for the cup.
The teams will play against one another, with the final game taking place on August 16. All those willing to do so can come and watch the hockey matches free of charge. The games schedule is available on Sputnik Club’s website and their official Vkontakte group.
Sputnik played against Chelmet in last year’s finals; Chelyabinsk team beat Sputnik 3:2 and won the first prize.
This year, however, the Nizhniy Tagil team stands a good chance of winning the cup: Supreme Hockey League Championship’s best goal scorer Denis Fakhrutdinov joined the team in July. Fakhrutdinov also was the Winter Student Olympics 2009 winner and won the third prize in the Supreme Hockey League Championship 2012/2013. Sputnik has been managed by the domestically and internationally experienced coach Vladimir Golubovitch for two years now.
