May 5, 2015. Students from five Yekaterinburg schools went on a guided tour of Plant 9 (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) as part of their job counseling program, the corporation’s press service reports.

The young visitors went to the company military vehicles exhibition and had a chance to go inside actual production departments. They were impressed with the newest machines at Department 23; these came to replace the older versions under the company’s upgrades program. The students could ask workers about their pay and about the peculiarities of working at a defense enterprise.

‘These guided tours aim to interest the future college students and to affect their choice of a career. Plant 9 needs plenty of young engineers, mill operators, and technicians, since our production is on the rise and the departments are undergoing large-scale technical upgrades,’ the plant representatives say.

Scores of modern, hi tech machinery get supplied to and launched at the plant every year. Quite a lot of repair jobs are under way at production departments, with the older machines getting dismantled and the foundations for the new equipment being laid. This year, the division scheduled for a total technological makeover is Department 27.
