April 7, 2015. The first semi-final round of WorldSkills Ural Federal District took place at Culture Palace of Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant/PNTZ (a member enterprise of ChTPZ Group).
According to the Group’s press service, the solemn opening ceremony was attended by Russia’s official delegate to WorldSkills International, Head of Blue Collar Training & Vocational Education Department at Russian Education & Science Ministry Natalya Zolotareva, Director-General of WorldSkills Russia Robert Urazov, Deputy Head of Education Projects at the Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Administration Galina Kazakova, and Sverdlovsk Region Education Minister Yuri Biktuganov.
‘This is the first time we are holding WorldSkills Russia semi-finals. These competition rounds will help see how thoroughly students train for the championship at Ural Federal District’s various vocational schools,’ Zolotareva said.
‘I wish all the contestants good luck; the competition is bound to change you and promote your inner growth. It is my hope that experts will take it upon themselves to do a thorough analysis of how these three crucial days go, since conclusions need to be made on how to educate our students further.’
Over 500 people from all over Ural Federal District applied for the semi-finals, including contestants in the under-22 age group, skills experts, and independent nationwide experts. The semi-finals will comprise contests in forty-one different skills and will be held on six sites in Yekaterinburg and Pervouralsk. ChTPZ Group Training Center serves as the primary site for the championship, with contests in nineteen skills held here. Among these skills are those that ChTPZ corporate training program focuses on: mechatronics, mobile robotics, operation of NC turning and milling machines, and welding technologies. Also, twelve job-counseling areas are provided for visitors to the event, including a robot arena (a dancing robot, a chess-playing robot, and a number of Lego robots), an interactive hoisting crane cabin, and a place where you can have your technical thinking skills tested.
