February 5, 2015. Central Yekaterinburg division of Rospotrebnadzor (the state consumer rights watchdog) detected food safety problems at two of Yekaterinburg Subway fast food outlets, the agency’s press service reports.
It was determined in the course of an inspection that both cafes had been selling foods that did not meet the microbiological safety regulations.
E.coli was found in the salmon sandwich on offer at the Subway at 8D Vosmoye Marta St and in the beef sandwich and the vegetable salad on offer at the one at 22 Repin St; the bacterium content was determined through lab tests.
As these violations of the sanitary legislation were uncovered, the legal entity operating both cafes (OOO Vkusno I Polezno) had to face administrative liability; a report was placed with Sverdlovsk Region Arbitration Court.
The court sentenced OOO Vkusno I Polezno to a 150,000-ruble fine.
