December 24, 2014. ChTPZ Group Chairman of the BOD Alexander Fedorov and Rector of South Ural State University Alexander Shestakov signed a strategic cooperation agreement on December 22; the enterprise and the college will work together in the areas of vocational education and scientific research, ChTPZ Group’s press service says.

The two parties aim to equip college students with skills needed to work at a modern industrial enterprise, to provide the plant with enough skilled engineers, to improve ChTPZ Group employees’ cadre potential, to improve pipe-manufacturing equipment and technologies, and to work together on job counseling for school-leavers. The first step is to set up a university chair for mechatronics on the premises of the plant. Starting in February 2015, the first group of twenty-five students will start studying at Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant.

‘A cooperation agreement with this college is a logical development of ChTPZ Group’s efforts to train vocational cadre for its production facilities. We have been offering vocational school education to our workers at ChTPZ Training Center in Pervouralsk. Then, those who have been on our Future of White Metallurgy program can get a college degree at the chair for pipe-manufacturing equipment and technologies: the chair was set up by Ural Federal University on the premises of our Training Center,’ Fedorov said.
