1 October 2014 (12:45)
October 1, 2014. The fan zone in Yekaterinburg’s Mayakovsky Central Park will be expanded and improved, Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg Council Sergey Tushin said when meeting with the representatives of the city council’s Culture Administration, V.V. Mayakovsky Central Park, the Urals’ Capital Municipal Enterprise, and Yekaterinburg Administration for Capital Construction.
‘This supporters’ zone is going to be used as the primary one, so it will be expanded and improved,’ Tushin said.
During this meeting, its participants also talked about the location of the fan zone and its separate sections, about the improvements to be made, about the financing of the project, about the uses these sites will be put to, and about the terms of the project implementation.
According to the current project, the renovated fan zone should fit perfectly into the general reconstruction plan for the entire park, and the technical specifications for the renovation must make it possible to use the large site in the future. This means that once the World Cup 2018 games are over, Mayakovsky Park can get entirely new entertainment and sports sites.
