Number of Sverdlovsk Region-based millionaires goes up 4%

September 15, 2014. 17,000 taxpayers submitted tax declarations in 2014 that stated a personal income of over 1m RUR; this is 4% more than a year earlier, Sverdlovsk Region division of Russia’s Federal Tax Service’s press service reports.

’16,000 private individuals stated their income was between 1m RUR and 10m RUR (up 4% on last year), 612 people stated their income was between 10m RUR and 100m RUR (down 9% on last year), 92 taxpayers stated their income was between 100m RUR and 500m RUR (15% more than a year earlier), and 27 private individuals stated their income was over 500m RUR (-18%),’ the press service says.

All in all, 276 tax declarations were submitted to Sverdlovsk Region’s fiscal authorities in seven months of 2014, which is 4% more than in seven months of 2013.

This figure included 8,000 declarations submitted by sole traders, notary officers, lawyers, and farmers.

Some 64,000 citizens submitted their tax declarations to authorities so they could get tax relief on their personal income (up 10% on a year earlier); these tax reliefs totaled to 2.2bn RUR, which was 15% more than in 2013.

About 99,000 private individuals applied for tax deduction on the homes they bought (+16% on last year); the deductions amounted to 31.6bn RUR altogether, which was 20% more than a year earlier.

Based on the tax declaration data, 4.2bn RUR was to be repaid back to taxpayers, which is 21% more than a year earlier. Based on the income declarations for 2013, 1bn RUR worth of income tax is to be paid to the budget.
