August 6, 2014. Kometa, a plasma arc cutting machine made in Tver, is now being set up at the extrusion department of Uralvagonzavod, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant. The company decided to buy a machine made in Russia because Uralvagonzavod has been using this kind of equipment since 2008, and the machine proved quite efficient, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports.
‘During the six years of operation, the machine almost never failed despite heavy use in a three-shift mode; most importantly, we get very high quality parts,’ the company reports.
Thermal cutting is the most harmful type of cutting, as a lot of aerosol is emitted during the process. This year’s model uses cutting frames that ensure funneling directly from the cutting area and keep as much air as possible while eliminating smoke and dust efficiently.
