July 15, 2014. A new pavilion will be completed at Yekaterinburg EXPO Exhibition Center next year, in time for the Innoprom 2015 Exhibition. A new venue became necessary after the exhibition got a new partner: some 100 Chinese companies announced they were willing to display their developments at the fair, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev said at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.
'There was a group of 150 Chinese delegates at this year's exhibition, most of them were actually business people,' Kuivashev said.
According to the Governor, the idea of putting up a new pavilion was already discussed during the first meeting dedicated to preparations for the next year's exhibition. This issue will also be on the agenda of the international investment forum Sochi 2014 that will be held on September 18-21, 2014. Besides, preliminary cooperation agreements will also be ready by then.
'We need to be ready with a separate pavilion whose size will be similar to the main pavilion where all the plenary sessions are held: this means an additional 16,000 to 18,000 sq m. In addition, we also need to finish the entrance, which is has not been fully completed yet. This year, we had to say 'no' to some applying companies because we did not have enough available sites at the exhibition center,' Kuivashev said.
