The two parties talked over the testing of the newest low-floor trams made by Uraltransmash in cooperation with the Polish company PESA.
‘We are currently testing four trams that have already proved to be more passenger-friendly, safer, and quite noiseless,’ Liksutov said. He also explained that eighty more such trams would be delivered from Poland before the end of the year.
Meeting participants, journalists, and passengers could judge for themselves how they felt about the trams when one of the new trams took them from the depot to Strogino Underground Station. Both the customer and the passengers gave only positive feedback on the experience.
Moscow is interested in renewing its fleet of tramways and is also planning on getting the trams serviced in Moscow as well: according to Liksutov, the city has everything one needs for this. Deputy Mayor of Moscow noted that Moscow Government was fully satisfied with the quality of the tram, the vehicle meets all the European standards, and all the jobs get completed on time.
