June 17, 2014. UMMC Holding and Hyatt Hotels Corporation are going to set up an apartment hotel in Yekaterinburg. This was discussed at the meeting the corporation’s heads Thomas Pritzker and Mark Hoplamazian had with the Russian company’s President Iskandar Makhmudov and Director-General Andrei Kozitsyn, UMMC press service reports.

The joint project is expected to make use of the multi-purpose Iset Tower set that is currently being put up by OOO Yekaterinburg City (a member enterprise of UMMC construction division).

‘We hope to be able jointly to go through with this apartment hotel project in Yekaterinburg’s Iset Tower. This is going to be done in a format that will differ somewhat from what we have now, the details have yet to be gone over, but, if this does work out, this is going to be a new turn in the development of hotel business in the Urals,’ Kozitsyn said at the end of the meeting.

UMMC is currently proposing that Hyatt Corporation take over six floors of the Iset Tower for the apartment hotel project.
