KBTM experts take part in 3d Siberian Engineers Conference

June 5, 2014. Fifteen engineers from Transport Machine-Building Design Office (KBTM, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) took part in the 3d Siberian Engineers Conference in Omsk Expocenter on May 28-30, 2014.

According to the corporation's press service, participants from 18 different parts of Russia arrived at the conference. The motto of the event ran, 'Engineering is the Basis of Russia's Development'. The primary idea behind the conference was to consolidate the expertise and the best practices from different constituencies in the field of industrial development, training engineering cadre, and enhancing engineers' efficiency.

On May 29, KBTM Chief Designer Igor Shumakov was awarded a gold badge of honor ('Siberia's Treasured Possession') for his considerable personal contribution to the development of modern self-propelled engineering vehicles. He also made a report on quick-mounting bridges that are made by KBTM.

On the last day of the conference, May 30, one of the plenary sessions took place where the company’s Chief Engineer Yuri Mishchenko, Chief Metallurgist Pavel Mikhailov, Chief Energy Engineer Vladimir Govorov, and other staff members presented KBTM. They spoke about the role chief engineers play at the current stage of economic development, about promoting the replacement of foreign hi tech goods with its Russian counterparts on the home market, and so on. On the same day, a student forum was held that was dedicated to the work of young engineers.
