June 3, 2014. Uralkhimmash was fined for violating the existing sanitary legislation; the violations were detected in the course of an on-site inspection conducted by the experts of Sverdlovsk Region division of Rospotrebnadzor.

According to the agency's press service, most of the violations detected had to do with failure to provide acceptable working conditions and failure to meet the current hygienic regulations for dust and pollutants content in the air within production departments. It was also determined that the licensing agreement on the use of ionizing radiation source was not complied with. Then, the company had no approved list of primary and supplementary raw materials or any normative documentation, sanitary and epidemiological reports or registration certificates. The company did not have a schedule for sanitary and hygienic control of ventilation systems at its facilities. Nor did t possess a sanitary and epidemiological report on the sanitary buffer zone around the company's industrial site. Not all the Category A employees working with gamma-inspection units had access to direct-reading dosimeters. In Department 40, crane pits had no glass panes and no ventilation or air conditioning systems.

As a result, three administrative offense protocols were issued in the name of the legal entity the plant represents and seven protocols were issued in the names of managers. Uralkhimmash had to face administrative liability, with charges based on Articles 6.3 and 6.4 (Part 4) and Article 14.1 of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code. The legal entity was ordered to eliminate these violations of sanitary regulations.
