Kazakh authorities confirm plans to set up JV with Uralvagonzavod

May 27, 2014. Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Masimov examined a number of life-size samples, including those made by Uralvagonzavod, on the third day of the International Exhibition KADEX 2014.
Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports that the company’s special representative for military & technological cooperation Alexei Maslov showed the Prime Minister Terminator-2, a fire support vehicle based on the T-72 tank; this vehicle meets the Kazakh Armed Forces’ requirements.
Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Serik Akhmetov confirmed the fact that the Kazakh authorities intended to implement joint projects and set up joint ventures for Uralvagonzavod and Kazakhstan Engineering.
Alexei Maslov also met the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Commander-in-Chief of the Army Murat Maikeyev.
The 3d International Arms & Equipment Exhibition KADEX 2014 took place in Astana on May 22-25. Uralvagonzavod presented its advanced special vehicles made at the corporation’s member enterprises: Terminator-2 fire support vehicle created by Nizhniy Tagil-based UKBTM; amphibious full-track vehicle PTS-4 made by Omsk-based KBTM; and two developments by Nizhniy Novgorod-based Burevestnik – monitoring & checkout machine KMP 1 I37E and a full-scale model of a mounted infantry combat vehicle ATOM.
