May 5, 2014. The workers of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s head plant and its member enterprises as well as employees of other Nizhniy Tagil-based companies took part in the traditional clean-up days that were coordinated in Nizhniy Tagil at the end of April, the holding’s press service reports.
‘Every participant could decide on what to do: clean up their working place or the streets of Dzerzhinsky District. The employees cleaned lawns and pavements, roads and squares, as well as parks. Over 15 streets were made to look much nicer, including the major arteries like Ilyich St, Okunev St, Zarya St, Vagonostroitely Ave, and Leningradsky Ave. 3,000 employees of Uralvagonzavod alone took part in the event, to say nothing of workers from Ural Transport Machine-Building Design Office (UKBTM), Ural Scientific & Technological Unit (UNTK), Uralcryomash, UBT-Uralvagonzavod, and other member enterprises,’ the company reports.
To ensure the efficient and smooth clean-up process, the plant bought 800 shovels, 1,000 rakes, 1,200 brooms, 500 brushes, and 300 pitchforks, as well as 7,000 pairs of gardening gloves, 500 fluorescent jackets, and 10,000 120-liter trash bags. The litter was transferred onto the landfill site by Uralvagonzavod and UBT Service transport departments.
All the money raised during the clean-up days will be directed to making Dzerzhinsky District even greener.
