April 9, 2014. The metrological park of Novouralsk-based Ural Electrochemical Works is now fitted with new, up-to-date calibration equipment, the enterprise’s press service says.

The electronic mass comparer that helps to compare the mass of a tested item with the reference one is one of the latest developments. The beauty of this unit lies in the high objectivity of measurements, relative compactness and advanced software. Besides, the new mass comparer can complete multiple observations and calculate mean square deviation and dispersion independently.

‘These operations are quite important in the daily operation of Ural Electrochemical Works. Our customers are known to weigh our produce upon delivery, so it is essential that the figures coincide down to every gram. Experience has shown that the differences that can get detected are minuscule and fall within the error margin limits (0.01% of the mass under scrutiny),’ says the works metrological engineer Anton Burlakov.

It should be noted that the upgrades of the company’s core and secondary production facilities are carried out within the framework of Rosatom’s TVEL long-term program on enhancing the efficiency of the business. For one, over 12bn RUR were directed to upgrading the enterprises of Novouralsk cluster in 2012-2013.
