April 8, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region Physical Education, Culture, Sports & Youth Policies Ministry designed a 'roadmap' for training volunteers for the World Cup in Yekaterinburg in 2018, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region's Information Policies Department reports.

'The 'roadmap' provides for the development and implementation of a multi-faceted volunteer training program. The program will comprise modules on language training and personality development. I believe that these steps, taken in 2014-2018, will result in the emergence of a team of active, positive, and efficient volunteers in Sverdlovsk Region who will accomplish the important mission of hosting the World Football Championship 2018 events in 2018,' says Sports Minister Leonid Rapoport.

Sverdlovsk Region Sports Minister actually signed an agreement with Universiade 2013 Directorate to make sure that local volunteers get to visit the trial competitions of the world fencing championship and European badminton championship in Kazan this year. They will also take part in preparation and coordination of the world water sports championship in Kazan in 2015.
