Ural Federal District’s foreign trade turnover comes to $2.5bn in January-February 2014

March 28, 2014. Ural Federal District’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $2.5bn in January-February 2014, Ural Customs Administration’s press service reports.

‘Most of this (82.9% of the total turnover) stems from trade deals with the countries of the far abroad, and only 17.1% stem from doing business with the CIS member states ($428.3m) Imports to the area amounted to 30.8% of our foreign trade turnover ($769.5m), while exports were twice as much and reached 69.2% of the total foreign trade turnover figures ($1.7bn), the press service says.

The freight turnover came to 2,1m tons in January and February 2014. The goods turnover was 19.4% less than a year earlier, the freight turnover was 12% less, the number of participants involved in foreign economic activity declined by 0.3%, whereas the number of cargo manifests rose by 0.5% and the number of exporting and importing countries increased by 2.9% and 6%, respectively.
