KBTM employees are among winners of All-Russian Engineer of the Year Contest

March 19, 2014. The employees of Transport Machine-Building Design Bureau (KBTM, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) were once again among the winners of the first round of a prestigious All-Russian contest called Engineer of the Year 2013 in the Military and Special Purpose Vehicles category along the segments designated as Professional Engineers and Engineering Art of the Young, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service says.

KBTM engineers have been taking part in the contest since 2007 and have always achieved good results.

Over the said period, 17 workers took part in the Engineer of the Year contest, and three of them were given the titles of laureates, and eight of them were proclaimed Russia’s Professional Engineers (with a certificate and a decoration), and six of them were given diplomas of first-stage winners.

The contest has been held in Russia every year from 2000. The contest is directed at making the blue-collar jobs more prestigious and professional, at singling out the elite of the Russian engineering profession, at promoting the achievements and experience of the country’s best engineers, at enhancing the interest in the engineering profession among the young, and at creating a corps of the country’s best engineers.

The following KBTM employees won the first stage of the contest in the Military and Special Purpose Vehicles category (as well as certificates and decorations): Olga Abushenko (Chief Design Engineer), Elena Lyakhova (Chief Design Engineer), and Ekaterina Skipari (Design Engineer).
