Uralvagonzavod wins JEC Awards

For the first time in history, Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation and ApATeK Scientific & Production Enterprise received the most prestigious international prize for innovations in the field of composites (technologies, materials, and structures) JEC Awards, the corporation's press service reports.
JEC Awards, which is to the composites industry as Oscar is to the film one, is awarded within the framework of the world's largest composites industry JEC SHOW (JEC CompositesShow) in Paris. This year, Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation was given its first-ever JEC Award in the Railway Transport category for its achievements in the field of making large-scale structures from composite materials. The corporation's award-winning project called Body of Hopper Wagon 19-5167 Made of Composites through Vacuum Infusion for the First Time in History was implemented in cooperation with ApATeK Scientific & Production Enterprise and the Dutch company LightweightStructures B.V.
This year, over 1,200 exponents from all parts of the world presented their modern and promising composite materials and technologies for all the sectors of industry at JEC-SHOW in Paris. They also presented the newest application fields for their composites. The exhibition was attended by about 28,000 people, including distributors and end users of the composites industry goods and services.
