U Tair flight to Goa gets delayed because of taxi strike

February 27, 2014. Flight 5739 Yekaterinburg-Goa by U Tair was delayed by five hours at Koltsovo Airport.
'The departure of chartered flight 5739 Yekaterinburg-Goa by U Tair was postponed from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM. This has to do with the limitations Goa Airport imposed on the arrival and departure of aircraft. The tour operator Anex Tour and U Tair Aviation Company were informed by the airport of these limitations the night before the departure date,' the airline's press service says.
U Tair explained that the information on the changes of Goa Airport's limitations on the arrival and departure of aircraft was given to them on February 25, late at night. Upon receiving the news, the tour operator informed the passengers.
'As for passengers who reside outside Yekaterinburg or those whom we were unable to reach on the phone and who are currently waiting for their flight at Koltsovo Airport, U Tair representatives are helping them there at the moment,' the airline's press service says.
As for the city of Goa, local taxi drivers have been on strike for the second day now. According to the media reports, the protestants have blocked up all the driveways to the airport.
