Union of Carriage-Makers members meet to talk about halts on freights operation

February 3, 2014. An off-site meeting of Union of Carriage-Makers, a non-commercial partnership of railway vehicles users and manufacturers, took place on the premises of Bezhitsk Steel in Bryansk.

According to the press officer of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation, over 35 representatives of carriage- and spare parts-making organizations, operator companies, and scientific research institutes took part in the event.

Russian Railways were represented by Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Department Alexander Kosarev and First Deputy Head of Rolling Stock Administration Alexander Lukyanov.

The meeting was dedicated writing off deficient and adulterated solebars, control over how the methodology of classifying freight cars as potentially hazardous goods and the methodology of putting an end to use of freight cars classed as potentially hazardous goods were implemented, and the introduction of marking the most important joints and parts of the freight cars.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the ways of uploading on the Traffic Safety Department’s website a database of solebars with two serial numbers and a database of solebars that were called off by the manufacturing plants.
