January 16, 2014. The head plant of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Enterprise summed up the conclusions following an inspection of fire safety condition of the plant’s departments, the holding’s press service reports.
The fire safety system meets the requirements set out in the normative fire safety documentation. In 2013, not a single fire occurred at the enterprise premises.
‘Throughout the year, the corporation’s head plant kept working on meeting the sate fire surveillance agency’s requirements and fitting its departments with emergency fire-fighting equipment and installing automated fire alarms. By now, these vital systems have been installed at nine facilities. There are currently 414 automated fire alarm and fire-fighting systems operating at the plant; all of them have a voice alert system and an evacuation control system. What is more, plenty of emergency fire-fighting equipment, fire-fighting devices, and fire extinguishing agents (amounting to a total of more than 2m RUR) were bought last year,’ the message states.
The inspection of the fire safety condition of the plant’s departments in 2013 revealed that galvanizing plant 1 was the best equipped among the mechanical assembly departments, metal goods department 2 was the best equipped among the carriage assembly departments, foundry department 7 was the best equipped among the metallurgical departments, the stamping department was the best equipped among tool-making, non-standardized equipment, energy facilities, and preproduction departments, and the automobile transportation department was the best equipped among the transport departments and warehouses.
