Pervouralsk Metallurgical Vocational School students to take part in WorldSkills Russia

October 31, 2013. Students of Pervouralsk Metallurgical Vocational School who are on ChTPZ Group’s The Future of White Metallurgy program are going to take part in the 2nd Moscow Championship WorldSkills Russia. Alexander Pauls and Ilya Ivanov, third-year Electric Engineering students, are going to compete in the Mechatronics category.

This is actually a brand new team, the previous members – Alexander Litvinenko and Artur Islamov – came 19th out of 33 in Leipzig at WorldSkills International 2013 and helped to train this round’s new mechatronics specialists at Pervouralsk Metallurgical Vocational School

The 2nd Moscow Championship will be held on November 1-5 at the World Exhibition Center and will be the third large-scale WorldSkills event in Russia: the first one was held successfully in Sokolniki, Moscow, in November 2012, and WorldSkills Russia (WSR), the All-Russian blue-collar jobs championship, took place in Togliatti in the spring of 2013.

This time, the contestants will be judged by 160 experts from 22 different parts of the country. Nearly 300 participants will compete for the first prizes in 17 categories, including Welding, Mechatronics, Culinary Art, Web Design, System Administration, Car Mechanics, Automobile Coating and Body Repair, Ventilation Systems Assembly, and others.
