Sverdlovsk Region is Russia's 3d most active buyer of foreign cars

Sverdlovsk Region is now the constituency with the third biggest amount of new foreign cars purchased by locals: 42,700 cars were sold in the first half of 2013, which is 2,500 less than a year earlier. All in all, 1.04m foreign cars were sold in Russia over this period, which is 4.5% less than a year earlier, Avtostat, an analytics agency, reports.
Moscow residents still buy the largest number of cars: 31.5% of all the foreign cats that were sold in Russia in January-June 2013 were sold in Moscow. Saint-Petersburg, which represents 8.7% of all sales, is the city with the second largest number of all newly bought foreign cars, followed by Sverdlovsk Region, Krasnodar Territory (38,500 cars, or 3.7% of all sales), and Tyumen Region, which dropped down to the fifth position with its 3.6% share of the market and 37,700 cars.
34,200 automobiles were purchased by the residents of Tatarstan (3.3% of all foreign car sales), 30,000 were bought in Bashkortostan (2.9%), 29,600 cars were bought in Samara Region (2.8%), 28,700 cars were bought in Nizhniy Novgorod Region (2.8%), and 26,100 cars were bought in Chelyabinsk Region (2.5%).
