Uralvagonzavod builds on ties with India

June 24, 2013. A Russia-India business conference took place on the first day of Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum; the event was attended by Russia’s Minster for Industry & Trade Denis Manturov and his Indian counterpart Anand Sharma. It was said that the two countries’ cooperation was seen as a preferential strategic partnership based on close and multi-faceted trade and economic and investment relations. The conference participants spoke about further expansion of their bilateral cooperation relating to both systemic collaboration issues and the implementation of specific projects in the energy, industry, transportation, communications, IT, hi tech, pharmaceutical, and agricultural sectors, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports.

Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s Director-General Oleg Sienko also took part in the conference. He spoke in his report on the corporation’s weighty contribution to improving the two countries’ cooperation process.

‘Our corporation is well-known on the Indian defense goods market. Yet both the options and the range of products Uralvagonzavod has to offer are much wider than this, so we really hope the plans to build up on Russia and India’s mutually beneficial cooperation in the civilian goods sector will become a reality,’ he said.
