June 4, 2013. Sberbank Leasing is handing over to UVZ-Logistic (a member of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation) about 7,500 railway carriages. The lease contract was signed by acting Director-General of Sberbank Leasing Kirill Tzarev and Director-General of UVZ-Logistic Dmitri Yeremeyev during the 8th International Railway Business Forum on Strategic Partnership 1520 in Sochi, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press officer reports.

It is reported that this is the largest contract on the Russian railway carriage leasing market at the moment. The project is worth about 30bn RUR in terms of lease payments; the contract is valid for 10 years and has been funded by Sberbank of Russia’s Moscow Bank.

The fleet of railway carriages supplied under the lease contract comprises 12-132 and 12-196-01 gondola cars and 15-150-04 and 15-5103-07 cisterns; these will be used on Russia’s railways as well as in the CIS and the Baltic States, the press release says.
