May 30, 2013. A high-speed railway link that is supposed to connect Moscow, Kazan, and Yekaterinburg will go through Ufa. This decision was made after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
A group of experts is expected to arrive in Bashkortostan very soon in order to discuss the technicalities relating to building the link. A special bifurcation leading to Ufa will be constructed, which will connect the capital of Bashkortostan with the country’s largest cities through a modern railway link.
