Uralvagonzavod congratulates war veterans on Victory Day

May 13, 2013. Some solemn ceremonies took place at Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s enterprises on the eve of Victory Day, the 68th anniversary of winning the Great Patriotic War. The war veterans and homefront workers were congratulated on the event in Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Kirov, Nizhniy Tagil, Omsk, Saint Petersburg, Volchansk, and other cities where the corporation’s enterprises are located. Each of these companies made a great contribution to the victory in the war at the time, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports.

The congratulations and words of gratitude were addressed to the veterans from Nizhniy Novgorod-based Burevestnik, who were treated to a concert staged by the current employees of the said research institute. Besides, every one of Burevestnik veterans was awarded with a decoration dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Soviet Army and Navy.

The festive events also took place at Lepse, Kirov. 972 war veterans and homefront workers were offered subsidies on the eve of the memorable anniversary. On May 8, a meeting took place in the square where the war memorial dedicated to the local veterans killed in the war and to the homefront workers. A brass band with flowers marched from the plant building to the square in a solemn procession. On May 9, Lepse Veterans Council and Youth Council took place in the municipal events and placed some flowers around the Eternal Fire on the city embankment.
