Mitsubishi to set up green production facility in Titanium Valley

30 April 2013 (09:50)

April 30, 2013. A protocol of intent was signed by the Mid-Urals Government and the Japanese holding Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering Co. Ltd. This has to do with the decision to set up an enterprise that will deal in design and production of waste-burning equipment in the Titanium Valley Special Economic Zone. The protocol was signed by Governor Evgeny Kuivashev and the Japanese company’s President Kazuaki Kimura.

Now Japan is currently the world’s leader in the waste-recycling industry: 1,800 out of 2,400 waste-recycling plants that exist all over the world are actually based in Japan.

The protocol-signing ceremony was also attended by President of the Japan Association for Trade with Russia & the NIS Takashi Nishioka and Sverdlovsk Region Government Vice Premier Alexei Orlov.

‘It’s been only a little more than two months since we met last, and I am quite happy to see that we have already found common ground and areas for successful cooperation. Let me assure you that Sverdlovsk Region Government is quite interested in improving the environmental situation here and in developing the green sector. The launch of such facilities is a very expedient part of the strategy set out by the country’s President Vladimir Putin in his May decrees. This is why we will keep on working on the implementation of our joint projects with diligence and persistence,’ Governor Kuivashev said.
