Ural Airlines Offers Veterans Free Tickets on Victory Day

April 18, 2013. Ural Airlines is offering the Great Patriotic War veterans its usual May gift this month: the veterans are entitled to a free trip from hero-cities Moscow and Saint Petersburg and back, and people who accompany them get a 90% discount on the basic economy class fare, the airline’s press service reports.
‘This is not the first time Ural Airlines is launching this special offer. A chance to see one’s close friends and wartime comrades is the best gift one can get on Victory Day,’ the company’s press release says.
Free tickets are available for the following flights:
Moscow-Yekaterinburg, Yekaterinburg-Moscow;
Moscow-Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk-Moscow;
Moscow-Chelyabinsk, Chelyabinsk-Moscow;
Moscow-Irkutsk, Irkutsk-Moscow;
Moscow-Chita, Chita-Moscow;
Moscow-Rostov, Rostov-Moscow;
Moscow-Mineralnye Vody, Mineralnye Vody-Moscow;
Saint Petersburg-Yekaterinburg, Yekaterinburg-Saint Petersburg;
Saint Petersburg-Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk-Saint Petersburg;
Saint Petersburg-Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk-Saint Petersburg;
Saint Petersburg-Yakutsk, Yakutsk-Saint Petersburg.
Discounts are only offered to Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) veterans, so one is expected to produce a veteran’s ID with a reference to Article 15, 17, or 14 of the Federal Veterans Act dated January 12, 1995.
