27m RUR Spent on Creating Ernst Neizvestny Museum in Yekaterinburg

March 29, 2013. A museum dedicated to Ernst Neizvestny will be set up in Yekaterinburg. The regional authorities believe it will gradually turn into a tourist Mecca for people from all over the world, Sverdlovsk Region’s Culture Minister Pavel Krekov said at a press conference today.

The new museum will be housed at 14 Dobrolyubov St in Petelin Residence, which is actually on the local cultural heritage list. The two-storey building is only fit for 40 visitors at a time, according to Krekov. By early April, the remodeling will be complete, so the museum employees will be able to start installing all the multi-media equipment there.

According to Director-General of Sverdlovsk Region Local History Museum Natalya Vetrova, 27m RUR has already been spent on creating the Ernst Neizvestny museum: 15.2m RUR was directed to arranging the exhibits and 11.8m RUR was spent on remodeling the museum and installing all the equipment. The money was allocated from Sverdlovsk Region budget.
