Sverdlovsk Region to Get Another Industrial Park
8 February 2013 (09:50)
February 8, 2013. Sverdlovsk Region Government and the regional towns’ mayors are to present their proposals on locating an industrial park in Severny Administrative District in addition to creating a similar site in Krasnoturinsk. This is what Governor Evgeny Kuivashev asked the officials for at an offsite meeting of the regional government’s presidium in Severouralsk, Governor’s Information Policies Department reports.
Now on Monday, the Governor held a meeting dedicated to creating industrial parks in the region, and as a result, the region’s Government and the Mid-Urals Development Corporation were asked to draw up a detailed action plan on how to implement five industrial parks projects in the region. The deadline for submitting the plans is February 15. All in all, ten industrial parks are supposed to be built in the Mid-Urals.
An industrial park on the premises of Bogoslovsky smelter is expected to be put up in Krasnoturinsk. Building the engineering infrastructure on the 110-hectare territory will require 1.4bn RUR. This could become a home for aluminum producers (who make spare parts and components for the car making, instrument-making, and aircraft building industries) as well as for the produce made from Bogoslovsky smelter’s recycled slime, namely, the rare earth element compounds.
