December 26, 2012. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation (UVZ) became a laureate of Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Energy-Saving Prize in 2012. The corporation was given a diploma in the Best Machine-Building Organization category, UVZ press service reports.

The award was given to the company’s Director-General Oleg Sienko for his effective management of the business that resulted in great energy savings and enhanced energy efficiency.

Uralvagonzavod’s combined heat and power plant is strategically important not only for the corporation itself but for the entire city of Nizhniy Tagil. The plant provides energy to UVZ production site as well as to Dzerzhinsky, the city’s largest district, the press release states.

What is more, the plant has been undergoing an upgrading process over the last few years, which makes it possible for the facility to fulfill the functions it was built for.
