TMK Registers JV with EMDAD in UAE

December 25, 2012. Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), one of the world’s leading OCTG manufacturers, registered a joint venture with EMDAD in Abu Dhabu, the United Arab Emirates, TMK’s press service reports.

EMDAD is one of the major oil companies in the Middle East and North Africa, and it has been TMK’s official dealer for several years now; the two companies have now also become partners in a joint project.

The new service center, Threading and Mechanical Key Premium LLC, will be dealing in repairs of pipes and underground equipment as well as thread-cutting for the O&G companies operating in the Persian Gulf. Under the two parties’ agreement, EMDAD will offer its premises for the location of production facilities, while TMK will purchase a set of industrial machines from the world’s leading producers and will be responsible for its assembly and start-up and commissioning. TMK is expected to invest a total of about $3.5m into the project. Some of the machinery has already been delivered to the UAE and is ready to be assembled. The enterprise is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2013.
