Burevestnik Hosts Seminar on Computer Technologies in Defense Industry

December 21, 2012. Burevestnik, the Nizhniy Novgorod-based scientific research institute and member of Uralvagonzavod Corporation, hosted a scientific and technological seminar on the use of super-computer technologies in the defense industry sector, Uralvagonzavod’s press service reports.
The event was coordinated after a data-processing center for the design modeling of artillery weapons and military vehicles (based on the Minin super computer) had been launched at the institute.
The seminar was attended by experts from 33 different companies and organizations from Moscow, Nizhniy Tagil, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Serov, and Nizhniy Novgorod. These organizations are mainly design offices, plants and scientific research institutes that are all members of Uralvagonzavod Corporation as well as defense enterprises and organizations that have some experience of using HPC technologies.
